Womble Carlyle Welcomes Winston-Salem Open Tennis Tournament Back to the Piedmont Triad

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—World-class tennis returned to North Carolina on Saturday, August 20th – and once again, Womble Carlyle is a sponsor of the Winston-Salem Open.

The field for this year’s Winston-Salem Open includes world Top 20 players Roberto Bautista Agut, Richard Gasquet and Pablo Cuevas, as well as American stars Steve Johnson, Sam Querrey, Donald Young and Taylor Fritz.

On Sunday, August 21st, four of the biggest stars of the recent past—James Blake, Jim Courier, Mark Philippoussis and Andy Roddick—will compete in the PowerShares Legends Winston-Salem event as part of the Winston-Salem Open.

Womble Carlyle has been a sponsor of the tournament since it began in 2011.  

The Winston-Salem Open takes place August 20th-27th at the Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem. If you can’t be in Winston-Salem live, check out semi-final action on ESPN2 on Friday, August 26th (time TBD) and the tournament final at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th.  Additional matches will be broadcast online at ESPN3.com.
