Mike is a business litigator with more than 30 years of high-stakes business litigation experience. He has represented companies in shareholder and corporate control disputes, major contract disputes, deceptive trade practices cases, trade secrets misappropriation matters and securities fraud claims. He has been named to North Carolina Super Lawyers (2006 to present) and The Best Lawyers in America (2007 to present).

Finally, Mike represents local government entities in business litigation. For example, he successfully represented the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County in defending eight legal challenges to the new downtown baseball stadium and urban renewal plan (Reese v. Mecklenburg County and City of Charlotte).
Mike has 15 years of experience at the top levels of Womble Carlyle’s firm management, including the Managing Partner of the Charlotte office for 15 years. So he has dealt with the same types of business issues that all middle market companies deal with, such as staffing, strategic planning, expansion, contraction and financing, and he brings this first-hand business management experience to his litigation practice.
