He is a big-picture attorney whose clients rely upon in high-stakes mass tort litigation. Michael spent 10 years as National Coordinating Counsel in multi-jurisdictional asbestos friction litigation, and he has particular experience defending the auto industry in product liability litigation. He is the Managing Partner of the firm’s Atlanta office.
Michael Sullivan is Managing Partner in the Atlanta office of Womble Carlyle, a full-service business law firm with more than 530 lawyers in 14 offices throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic United States and in Silicon Valley. Michael is a mass tort and complex commercial litigation attorney with over 30 years of experience representing clients in bet-the-company litigation. His practice today includes acting as trusted advisor to senior level executives on risk management, cost control and litigation management issues. In addition to his leadership role in the firm, Michael is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, Georgia Automotive Manufacturers Association and is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America.
Over the course of his career, Michael has represented all types of businesses from Fortune 500 Corporations to family-owned, middle market ventures.
