He guides corporate clients in environmental and toxic torts cases, both federal and state, and counsels companies in environmental regulatory matters.
Michael is a member of the Firm’s environmental and toxic torts practice group, but also enjoys a broad litigation practice in areas of business litigation, products liability, personal injury, legal and medical malpractice defense and both commercial and residential landlord-tenant and collection work. While most of his work is defense oriented, he has represented a number of plaintiffs in business disputes and other matters. He has represented clients in both state and federal courts across the State of South Carolina, arbitrations in South and North Carolina, as well as in negotiations with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).His environmental and toxic tort experience has spanned a number of litigation and regulatory matters, including:
Michael has gained valuable experience in trying several cases and arbitrations to verdict, briefing and arguing many dispositive motions and appeals, and mediating numerous other matters in an effort to efficiently resolve cases before they reach court.
