Mr. Gutmann has extensive experience in the field of communications in addition to the experience he has gained as a veteran lawyer focusing in this area. He worked in commercial and non-commercial radio programming and management throughout college and graduate school. He also worked at The New York Times and served as a television producer/director before entering law school. Peter has also worked with broadcast clients to ensure compliance of their transmitter sites with the National Environmental Protection Act.
His wide-ranging experience has enabled him to offer efficient and in-depth legal and practical advice on all aspects of broadcasting. He focuses on the particular transactional and regulatory needs of medium- and small-market broadcasters:
Mr. Gutmann writes extensively on classical music and other arts. He writes the "Classical Notes" column for Goldmine magazine and a monthly "After Hours" column for Legal Times. Mr. Gutmann was awarded the Dateline Award for Excellence in Local Journalism in 2002, 2003 and 2004 by the Washington, DC chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
