Don't Forget to Update Your Policies to Comply with North Carolina's New Law Prohibiting Texting and Emailing While Driving
November 30, 2009
Effective midnight tonight, it is against the law in North Carolina for drivers to use mobile phones to type or read text messages or emails while driving. If your company’s employees use cell phones or mobile devices for business purposes, we suggest that it is important to have a policy summarizing the company’s expectations and rules regarding their appropriate use, and requiring employees to comply with all applicable laws on the use of technology while driving.
