In yet another example of growing investor focus on corporate governance and corporate risk in particular, proxy advisory firm RiskMetrics Group (“RMG”) recently unveiled its new corporate governance rating system, Governance Risk Indicators (“GRId”). GRId will measure each portfolio company's level of risk based on market best practices in the areas of audit, board structure, compensation and shareholder rights. GRId will replace RMG’s current corporate governance rating system, Corporate Governance Quotient (“CGQ”), on a staggered basis starting in March 2010.
