Bernard Brown to Speak at Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Law Conference

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—Womble Carlyle patent agent Dr. Bernard Brown will be a speaker at the North Carolina Central University School of Law Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Law Review. The conference takes place Friday, March 19th, and will focus on focused on new and evolving issues in biotechnology and pharmaceutical law. The event will be held at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
Brown will discuss the potential impact on DNA patents of the pending Association for Molecular Pathology, et al. v. United States Patent and Trademark Office, et al case.
The keynote speaker for this event will be David Cade, Acting General Counsel for the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Dr. Bernard Brown is a patent agent with experience in intellectual property issues related to life sciences, biotechnology and nanotechnology. He has a Ph.D. in biochemistry from North Carolina State University and practices in Womble Carlyle’s Winston-Salem and Greensboro offices.
