Beth Jones To Give Employment Law Update to HR Professionals

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Womble Carlyle Labor & Employment attorney Beth Jones will speak at the North Carolina College & University Professional Association for Human Resources (HCCUPA-HR) Fall Conference. The conference takes place in Greensboro on Oct. 19-20.
Jones will give an Employment Law Update. Her talk will focus on helping human relations professionals deal with difficult workplace communications, such as dealing with a difficult or distressed employee, dealing with an employee with a pending administrative charge or grievance, communicating with an employee on a medical or family leave, or evaluating a faculty or staff member’s work. Jones will discuss the key issues to consider in each situation as well as strategies to manage the legal risks.
Beth Jones uses her experience as a former human resources professional and in-house legal counsel to assist employers, both public and private, in complying with all federal and state employment laws including preparing policies, procedures, programs, plans, handbooks, and employment agreements, as well as providing training for employers on a variety of employment practices. She practices in Womble Carlyle’s Raleigh office.
