Bill Ragland Speaks on IP Marking at Corporate IP Institute

ATLANTA—Womble Carlyle intellectual property litigation attorney Bill Ragland spoke at and moderated a panel discussion at the Annual Corporate IP Institute presented by the Georgia State University College of Law and College of Business.
Ragland led a panel discussion of in-house attorneys on “IP Marking: Benefits, Costs and Litigation.” The discussion explored best practices for marking products and written materials with patent numbers and designations of trademark, copyright, and trade secret rights. Panelists also discussed the recent explosion of false patent marking lawsuits. Panel members included Leo Cook, Vice-President of Legal at HD Supply, and Kevin Cranman, General Counsel of Ericsson Television.
Bill Ragland’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. He has served as litigation counsel in more than 40 patent infringement lawsuits. Ragland also provides strategic advice regarding the structure, negotiation and implementation of intellectual property enforcement and licensing programs and portfolio management services. In both 2009 and 2010, he was named as one of the top 250 intellectual property strategists in the world by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office.
