Event Recap: VIP Molden Holley Reception
April 27, 2007
The Triangle offices of Womble Carlyle hosted a VIP Networking Reception on Thursday, April 19th, at the Cardinal Club in Raleigh, to show their dedication to diversity by introducing the firm’s strategic alliance with minority-owned, Atlanta-based, law firm Molden Holley Fergusson & Thompson, LLC.
Thirty-two lawyers and staff from the firm's Raleigh, RTP and Winston-Salem offices welcomed nearly 65 attendees from a variety of business and community sectors, including government relations, higher education, non-profit organizations, corporate and for-profit organizations. Five members of Molden Holley also flew in from Atlanta for the reception and networked with local executives and leaders in attendance. In total, 95 people attended the reception.
Keith Vaughan, Chair of the Firm Management Committee, along with Oni Holley and Ken Thompson, both members of Molden Holley, presented an overview of the alliance's history, its importance and its positive impact on both firms. The reception provided a professional yet fun setting for guests to network while being entertained by a three-piece jazz band. Guests were able to meet new contacts and discuss ways of collaborating with each other.
Attendees offered encouraging feedback about the reception:
“The reception was an excellent networking opportunity, where I connected and renewed with several present and potential contacts.”
“Excellent event – the attorneys at Molden Holley appear to be a wonderful group of expert lawyers who can work well with Womble Carlyle.”
“The caliber of principals at Molden Holley was very impressive. Yours is a wonderful example of the benefits associated with thinking outside the box. I appreciate the invitation very much!”
“I plan to write several of my Womble friends to relay what an exceptional event it was and to congratulate both firms for their creativity in embracing diversity in such a powerful way. Both firms should be credited for their vision!”
“I think it was a good event, attended by a great variety of people.”
“Well organized, nice location, good food. The ‘learn’ part of the program was just long enough, and the Molden Holley people did a great job both on and off the program.”
"Very impressive. This is the first VIP event I have attended with Womble. It was a good investment of time.”
