You are invited to join us for another live webcast from the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) entitled Campus Threat Assessments" on Thursday, June 3, from 12-2 pm, at Womble Carlyle's RTP Office.  Lunch will be available beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Statistics continue to show that college and university campuses are among the safest environments in the country. Nonetheless, violent crime does occur on and near college campuses every year and recent events in particular have focused attention on campus crime and the responsibility of college officials to assess and potentially predict the threat of violence by members of the campus community.

Threat assessment teams play a critical role in an institution’s ability to determine if an individual poses, or may reasonably pose, a threat of violence and to intervene to avert the threat and maintain the safety of the situation. Registrants are encouraged to invite current or potential members of their own institutional threat assessment teams to attend the seminar. Join us for this virtual seminar which will cover the roles and responsibilities of key members of threat assessments teams from the perspective of an attorney, a law enforcement officer and a student mental health professional.

An experienced panel will lead participants through several real-life scenarios to illustrate how a threat-assessment team would assess and respond to specific situations.
