Womble Carlyle attorney George Kurlyandchik will participate in an American Bar Association Webinar on “Real Property Deeds in Lieu of Foreclosure: Practical and Legal Considerations.” The Webinar takes place from 1-2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, February 15th. 

This program will discuss the practical and legal issues associated with a consensual transfer of commercial real property from a Borrower to its Lender in full or partial satisfaction of a debt.

Topics to be discussed will include:

  • Benefits and risks, especially when compared to a consensual foreclosure;
  • The Deed in Lieu Agreement – practical tips on drafting and negotiation;
  • Special issues associated with Deeds in Lieu.
George Kurlyandchik has significant experience representing large U.S. and foreign banks and other financial institutions as well as public and private borrowers in all aspects of commercial lending transactions, including cash flow, asset-based and mezzanine transactions, construction loans, reorganizations and workouts, acquisitions and other leveraged financings. He has substantial knowledge of syndicated and single lender credit facilities, first lien/second lien and subordinated debt facilities. Kurlyandchik has also represented real estate developers and institutional investors in property acquisition, disposition and development. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office.
