Harkins Moderates AAAS Lobbying & Advocacy Panel

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Womble Carlyle Senior Government Relations Advisor Mark Harkins moderated a panel discussion on "Lobbying and Advocacy in Washington" for an audience of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellows.
Harkins’ panel discussion was part of a two-week orientation session for AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellows and was held in Washington, D.C. Numerous high-level government officials from a number of federal departments also spoke to Fellows as part of the orientation sessions.
AAAS Fellows are early to senior-career scientists and engineers who have been competitively selected to spend a year in Washington, DC, working with Congress and federal agencies on issues relating to science, technology, and policy while learning about the federal policymaking process.
Mark Harkins is focused on the representation of corporate, nonprofit, and government clients before Congress and the Executive Branch. He came to Womble Carlyle following an 18-year career working on Capitol Hill.
