Jim Cooney Discusses Duke Case in Baltimore

On Friday, May 25th, the eve of the NCAA lacrosse championships, Womble Carlyle attorney Jim Cooney  discussed his experience successfully defending one of the Duke University lacrosse players in the recently dismissed prosecution. The Duke Lacrosse case attracted international attention and, as a result, Cooney has been sought after by major media outlets, including CNN, CBS News, the Associated Press, USA Today, ABC News and Time. Womble Carlyle recently opened its Baltimore office under the leadership of former Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Governor Ehrlich was on hand for Cooney's remarks. The NCAA lacrosse championship weekend took place in Baltimore May 26th to May 28th. Duke's lacrosse team is currently tournament's No. 1 seed.
