Jim Kahl to Offer Political Law Advice at ASAE Symposium

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney Jim Kahl will participate in a panel discussion at the ASAE Annual Association Law Symposium. Kahl will discuss “Practical Advice for Navigating Your Way Through Political Law.”
The 2011 Annual Association Law Symposium will address the most pressing issues in association and nonprofit law today. The event will target association and nonprofit in-house counsel, representing primarily Section 501(c)(6) and Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, as well as attorneys from firms with nonprofit or association practices. The event takes place Friday, Sept. 16th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Jim Kahl represents clients regarding the regulation of political activity, including counseling on federal and state campaign finance laws, government ethics laws, and lobbying laws. With an extensive background working in and practicing before federal agencies, Jim helps clients navigate the complex regulatory maze that impacts political activity. From 2002 to 2007, Jim served as Deputy General Counsel of the Federal Election Commission.
