Jim Kahl to Speak on Campaign Finance, Ethics and Lobbying Reform at Upcoming ASAE Seminar

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Womble Carlyle attorney Jim Kahl will be speaking at the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE) & The Center for Association Leadership's Annual Association Law Symposium. The event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25th at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

 Kahl will participate in a panel discussion entitled, "Surviving the Flood of 2009: The New Wave of Ethics, Lobbying and Campaign Finance Laws." The panel will discuss recent actions by the Federal Election Commission and the White House to tighten certain campaign contribution laws.

From 2002 to 2007, Jim served as Deputy General Counsel of the Federal Election Commission. He now represents clients regarding the regulation of political activity, including counseling on federal and state campaign finance laws, government ethics laws, and lobbying laws. Jim is a frequent speaker and author on issues related to campaign finance, lobbying and political ethics.
