Don Lampe to Speak on Subprime Crisis at ACC-Georgia Luncheon
Womble Carlyle attorney Don Lampe will speak on the subprime mortgage crisis at the Association of Corporate Counsel, Georgia Chapter luncheon on Tuesday, May 13th in Atlanta. Don’s presentation entitled “Impact of the ‘Subprime Crisis’ -- The Forecast and the Search for Solutions” will address how the subprime mortgage "crisis" developed and what policymakers and regulators are considering now to solve it. Don will discuss the legal and regulatory outlook in 2008 for mortgage lending and housing finance as well as expected timelines and tensions in regulatory and legislative approaches to the crisis.
Don practices in the Regulatory, Compliance and Consumer Credit Practice Team within Womble Carlyle’s Capital Markets Practice Group. Don is a noted industry attorney on mortgage lending regulation and compliance, with 25 years experience in banking and financial services law. He testified before the U.S. Congress twice in 2007 on comprehensive mortgage reform bills, as well as before the Federal Reserve Board in 2000 at high-cost home mortgage lending hearings. Don is the Chair of the American Bar Association's Consumer Financial Services Committee and is a member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.
