Tom Lee, Jon Mize & Beth Jones Speak at College and University CFO Meeting

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Womble Carlyle attorneys Tom Lee, Jon Mize and Beth Jones spoke at the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities’ CFO Meeting, on November 9th in Greensboro.
Lee and Mize presented on “Tax Exempt Financing for Private Colleges and Universities,” while Jones gave a Higher Education Update.
Tom Lee heads Womble Carlyle’s Public Finance Group. He has considerable experience in all types of financings undertaken by the State and local governments in North Carolina. Tom has acted as bond counsel on hundreds of taxable and tax-exempt bond issues by the State of North Carolina, State Agencies, local governmental units and special authorities and districts in financing their capital needs through the issuance of general obligation bonds, revenue bonds and other financing transactions.
Jon Mize is a public finance attorney with experience serving as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, borrower's counsel and bank counsel in financings for local governments, hospitals, universities, colleges, continuing care retirement communities and other authorities and organizations throughout North Carolina. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Raleigh office.
Beth Jones practices primarily in the areas of education and employment law. She concentrates her practice on providing effective counseling and compliance assistance to enable her clients to manage risks proactively. Beth uses her experience as a human resources professional and in-house legal counsel to assist employers, both public and private, in complying with all federal and state employment laws
