Womble Carlyle Attorneys to Hold eDiscovery and Early Case Assessment Seminars

Womble Carlyle attorney Mike Leonard will help lead a three-day series of North Carolina seminars entitledState of the Art in eDiscovery and Early Case Assessment. The seminars are scheduled for Nov. 9-11 in Charlotte, Winston-Salem and the Raleigh/RTP region.
Mike and Deborah Baron, Vice President of Legal and Compliance for Autonomy, Inc., will take a fresh look at best practices and methodologies in eDiscovery and Early Case Assessment as it relates to the Amended Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP). They will be joined by Womble Carlyle attorneys Mark Henriques in Charlotte, Bob Pierce in Winston-Salem and Rob Fields in Raleigh/RTP.
The seminars will address such topics as:
- Key issues in cost-effectively complying with the FRCP for eDiscovery and Early Case Assessment;
- Investigative methods to rapidly assess the merits of a matter;
- Relevant case law and case studies;
- Techniques to help clients reduce the burden and cost of eDiscovery before collection of data (e.g., email stores, audio and voicemail files, file servers, and archives);
- Early Case Assessment best practices;
- Reasonable and defensible approaches to reducing the volume of data for review.
The Charlotte seminar is scheduled for 5-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9th at the Ritz-Carlton, 201 E. Trade Street. Dinner will be served and a cocktail reception will follow the presentation.
The Winston-Salem seminar is a lunch presentation from noon-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10th. It will be held at the Office of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice PLLC, One West Fourth Street in downtown Winston-Salem.
The Raleigh/RTP seminar also is a lunch presentation, scheduled for noon-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11th. It takes place at the Umstead Hotel, 5 SAS Campus Drive in Cary.
