Womble Carlyle to Host GA Film Tax Credit Event
August 6, 2009
ATLANTA—A new state tax credit for film production companies now makes Georgia a highly attractive place to film a movie or television show. These tax credits can be acquired by individuals and companies who are looking to reduce their state tax liability. With a purchase of Georgia film tax credits, an individual or company can reduce its Georgia tax bill by 10 to 20 percent.
So how do companies and individuals take advantage of these new opportunities? Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office will host “A Presentation on Georgia Film Tax Credits: How to Easily Reduce Your Georgia State Tax Bill” on Thursday, August 6th. The firm of Bennett Thrasher PC is co-hosting the event.
Womble Carlyle attorney Bernard Coleman, a corporate and securities attorney with extensive experience representing clients in the entertainment field, will be a speaker. Also speaking are Peter Stathopoulos of Bennett Thrasher and Asante Bradford of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office.
The presentation begins at 5:30 p.m., with a cocktail reception and networking session to follow. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and registration is required. Click here to register for the presentation.
Womble Carlyle’s new Atlanta office is located in Atlantic Station at 271 17th Street, NW, Suite 2400. Click here for directions.
