On Thursday, February 24, 2011, Womble Carlyle attorneys, Louis Rouleau and Thomas J. Sawyer, and Fannie Mae Associate General Counsel, Miriam Smolen, will reveal practical lessons learned from the television show, “The Office,” related to 30(b)(6) depositions. Attendees will learn 30(b)(6) best practices, including:
  • the interplay between Rule 30(b)(6) and right to notice officer depositions;
  • how to get the attention of senior management for complete preparation and tactical advantage in litigation; 
  • how to evaluate appropriate corporate representatives for various types of litigation issues;
  • strategies and policies for preparing witnesses generally and for their specific topics;
  • procedures for keeping the company and the individual separate during deposition;
  • strategies and successful techniques for dealing with aggressive opposing counsel; and,
  • testifying through supplemental interrogatory answers before deposition to eliminate affect of common pitfalls.
This program will be offered live at Womble Carlyle’s Tysons Corner office and via webcast. Lunch will be provided on-site from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.  The program/webcast will take place from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
