Amanda is a civil litigator in Womble Carlyle's Raleigh office. Amanda's diverse practice includes representing clients in cases dealing with commercial contract disputes, unfair and deceptive trade practices and fraud claims, consumer finance and residential lending claims, and in products liability suits. She has participated in trials, mediations, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and several significant appellate cases. Amanda represents clients in a variety of sectors including the software, banking, and construction industries. Amanda is a primary editor/writer for Womble Carlyle's North Carolina Appellate Blog, and also contributes to The Compass, Womble Carlyle’s business and technology litigation blog.
Before joining Womble Carlyle, Amanda was an Associate Attorney General in the North Carolina Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Division, where she helped enforce North Carolina’s unfair and deceptive trade practices and discount buying club acts, and gained an understanding of issues related to these laws from the consumer’s perspective. Amanda was also a judicial clerk at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Prior to enrolling in law school, Amanda gained valuable business experience in the software and technology industry by working at IBM, Engineous Software, Peopleclick, and Electronic Data Systems.
