Andy Claerbout is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group in Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office, where he concentrates his practice on mechanical and electrical patent prosecution. Andy has experience drafting and prosecuting foreign and domestic patent applications relating to mechanical and electrical technologies including integrated circuit device and MEMS technology, protective coating apparatus, electric motors, electrical connectors, food service equipment, semiconductor wafer manufacturing apparatus and processes, welding apparatus, absorbent articles, and medical devices.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Andy served as Project Engineer/Systems Engineer for United Conveyor Corporation, where he managed all areas of ash handling system projects from design to construction phase, including mechanical sizing and design, electrical and control system design, structural design, and purchasing/production interface.
