Chris concentrates his practice on private investment funds, corporate governance and public securities matters. A substantial portion of his experience involves private equity funds -- representing general partners in the formation of private equity funds, mezzanine debt funds and funds of funds. He also represents investors in making and monitoring investments (totaling more than $1 Billion) in a variety of international and domestic private equity funds, venture capital funds, energy funds, timber funds and real estate investment trusts. In addition, Chris advises listed public companies regarding U.S. corporate governance rules and listing standards, as well as their periodic reporting, compliance and disclosure obligations. Chris is involved in other complex business transactions, including private equity and venture capital investments, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, technology transactions and corporate governance-related matters such as the implementation of shareholder rights plans. Chris has been an invited speaker and panelist at venture capital industry conferences and he has guest-lectured on venture capital and private equity at the Duke University School of Law, the Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management and the Wake Forest University School of Law. Chris is co-author on several publications in the area of corporate governance.
