Lawyer Bio : W. Clark Goodman

W. Clark Goodman

Charlotte

Clark’s practice is focused on civil litigation in complex commercial, insurance, environmental and toxic tort issues. He has considerable experience in a broad range of litigation matters. For several years he specialized in insurance and public official defense. His insurance practice included third party liability defense for commercial and individual clients, as well as representation of insurers in first party bad faith and coverage disputes. His public official practice included representation of municipalities, law enforcement officers and public boards in civil rights, constitutional and common law liability actions.

Clark now integrates his experience in insurance and public official defense into complex commercial, environmental and toxic tort litigation. In particular, his litigation practice focuses on complex business disputes and lawsuits arising out of exposure to allegedly harmful chemicals or environmental conditions, such as mold in residential or commercial structures and industrial waste products or chemicals released into the ground, air or water. His practice also includes representation of businesses in administrative challenges to environmental permit conditions and governmental enforcement actions.

Clark’s diverse practice has allowed him to develop familiarity with and experience in state and federal courts, at the trial and appellate levels. He has successfully argued motions and appeals in the federal and state trial courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.
