Dan represents developers, purchasers, sellers, investors, tenants and borrowers in commercial real estate transactions. He has handled the acquisition, financing and leasing as well as investments in most types of commercial and residential real estate.

In addition, Dan serves as outside general counsel to a number of emerging and mid-market companies. In this role, drawing on the experience of other lawyers in the firm, he counsels these companies on such matters as capitalization, employee retention, dispute resolution and the transfer, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

In counseling clients, Dan draws on his corporate, community, law firm and athletic management and leadership background. He is a practical, strategic thinker and team builder whose advice is results-oriented.

Dan’s transactional experience includes:

  • the acquisition and sale of office buildings, residential projects, hotels and large development parcels,
  • the structured sale of a nursing home in settlement of a complex dispute involving the ownership of bed rights,
  • commercial leases for technology and other commercial clients,
  • representation of large development companies in the financing and leasing of commercial projects,
  • the acquisition and sale of significant development parcels with institutional investors,
  • representing private developers in structuring public-private partnerships with governmental authorities, including tax-exempt financing,
  • representing private developers in negotiating joint ventures with institutional investors,
  • representing shareholders or other stakeholders in resolving disputes with other stakeholders.
