David B. Hamilton

David Hamilton is the managing partner of the Baltimore office of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC. David helped establish the office in 2007 expanding Womble Carlyle’s footprint into Maryland.
David practices in our Antitrust and Business Litigation Practice Groups, with experiences in antitrust, class action, qui tam, trade secrets, RICO, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and partnerships disputes, franchise and other business competition claims. David has vast experience working on complex disputes with many of the cases arising from health care, technology, banking and real estate matters. He has handled many cases involving multiple parties where large complex matters were resolved and has litigated substantial cases in many state and federal courts throughout the United States. David has also acted as outside general counsel to private companies and regularly provides business and litigation advice to executives. He has periodically been involved in white collar defense matters.
Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, David was a Principal at Ober Kaler in Baltimore and co-chaired the litigation department and chaired the government relations practice group. He specialized in business litigation and complex commercial disputes. He also served as general counsel for the Maryland Bush-Cheney Campaign from 2003-2004 and as general counsel for the Ehrlich-Steele Transition Team in 2002, as general counsel for the Ehrlich Cox Campaign in 2006.
David was named a Maryland Super Lawyer in civil litigation/defense 2007 and 2009, and in business litigation in 2007.
