Dave leads a permanent, ongoing document review team that handles both large-scale and smaller document review projects for Womble Carlyle attorneys as well as for clients’ other law firms. The team provides litigation, regulatory, due diligence and other document review services at highly competitive rates for a broad range of clients.
He has worked on defense cases in state courts throughout the United States, including Oklahoma, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, North Carolina and Florida. He has obtained many favorable outcomes on behalf of his clients in these cases and has tried cases before a jury to their conclusion.
Dave coordinated a national litigation effort in defense of a construction products manufacturer. That case included 25 actions filed across the country.
He litigated a series of cases which established that North Carolina’s economic loss rule protects remote manufacturers of construction products.
Dave also has extensive experience representing an animal health company, including acting as the company’s interim general counsel.
Representative Matters
- Represented a construction manufacturer in national litigation filed by a major hotel developer. After obtaining a summary judgment in Oklahoma, the nation-wide litigation was settled for 3 percent of the original demand.
- Represented a construction product manufacturer in statewide litigation in North Carolina. The case was settled for 3 percent of the plaintiff's original demand.
- Represented a boat manufacturer in a matter against its business loss insurance carrier.

- Wilson v. Dryvit Systems Inc., 206 F. Supp. 2d 749 (E.D.N.C. 2002), affirmed 71 Fed. Appx. 960 (4th (N.C.) 2003)
