Betty specializes in estate planning, estate administration and charitable giving. Because of her work with a number of charitable organizations and foundations, including serving as a board member on a large private foundation and her local community foundation, she has a strong interest in promoting philanthropy.

Betty works with families in creating estate plans that result in significant estate and gift tax savings, and she assists families who have lost loved ones in settling estates and handling controversies.

During her tenure as President of the North Carolina Bar Association, Betty renewed her commitment to the profession by promoting the highest professional standards for lawyers.
