Garrett advises on economic development projects throughout the US. He collaborates closely with former four-term North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt and the firm's Economic Development Team, assisting clients on economic development projects and government relations strategy, site selection and incentives negotiation.

Garrett first joined the firm’s real estate practice. He specialized in commercial transactions. Garrett then left the firm to join a major, international commercial real estate firm.  While there, he specialized in site selection, facility construction and move management while handling significant facilities relocations for companies such as CSC, Lockheed Martin and Whirlpool.

Garrett rejoined Womble Carlyle after working on the gubernatorial campaign for North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue.
