Georgi prepares and develops expert medical and scientific witnesses in complex product liability litigation. She finds and develops experts nationally and internationally, and works with trial counsel on preparing witnesses and incorporating expert witness testimony into trial strategy.
She has worked with doctors, scientists and other expert witnesses in such fields as:
- Pathology
- Radiology
- Toxicology
- Otolaryngology
- Oncology
- Pulmonology
- Cardiology
- Occupational medicine
- Econometrics
- Biostatistics
- Dentistry/periodontology
- Neurology.
Georgi has experience working with expert witnesses at all stages of litigation, from pre-trial preparation to working on site at trial. She has represented clients in both state and federal courts.
In the area of
pro bono
work, Georgi has acted on behalf of North Carolina’s abused and neglected children as a
guardian ad litem
appellate advocate and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to handle veterans’ benefits claims. She also worked extensively with Womble Carlyle’s effort to assist low-income victims of Hurricane Katrina. Georgi has advocated on behalf of children in international child custody cases, working with the U.S. Department of State and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
