Jeff McFadden has substantial experience in providing strategic advice and counsel to emerging and well-established businesses, particularly, technology based businesses, in acquiring and protecting intellectual property assets. He has significant experience in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law. He has provided counseling to, and prepared and prosecuted patent, trademark and copyright applications for, clients in the information technology, financial services, software, e-commerce, Internet, publishing, building supply, printing, apparel, furniture and textile industries.
Jeff received a B.S. in Mathematics from Wake Forest University in 1980. Prior to attending law school, he was a programmer/analyst for a Washington, D.C. based defense contractor. He received his Juris Doctor from Catholic University Law School in Washington, D.C. in 1985, and was ranked fifth in his graduating class. Since 1996, he has completed substantial post-graduate course work in Computer Science Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, particularly, in the areas of object oriented and assembly language programming, databases, and computer logic and computer design.
