Jodi's practice focuses on representing hospitals and heath care providers in a wide range of issues, particularly regulatory compliance. Her regulatory experience includes assisting clients with:

  • Stark Law compliance;
  • Federal Anti-Kickback Statute issues;
  • Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) matters;
  • Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and enrollment; and
  • Compliance with various state laws, including the North Carolina Self-Referral Act.

In addition, Jodi assists hospitals and health care systems with transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, as well as the formation of physician practices owned by hospitals. She has experience guiding the formation of joint ventures between hospitals, physicians and other health care providers.

Jodi also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating physician recruitment agreements, professional services agreements as well as other types of contractual arrangements. Jodi also assists clients with drafting and revising their medical staff bylaws. Her clients include health care providers of all sizes, from small community hospitals to large-scale heath care systems.
