Lawyer Bio : Joel G. Pieper

Joel has over 16 years of experience as a trial lawyer, managing complex, commercial litigation with a focus on matters involving product liability, commercial construction, class actions, insurance coverage disputes, and claims involving fraud, embezzlement or self-dealing by company executives.

 

Joel’s product liability experience includes defense of manufacturers of building products, pharmaceuticals, household appliances, forest products, and cellular telephones. Joel has also served as national, class action, and/or strategic planning counsel for product manufacturers in defense of consumer class actions and individual construction defect lawsuits throughout the United States. 

 

Joel's commercial construction practice includes representation of design professionals, owner/developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers in contract, construction defect, professional negligence, surety and insurance coverage issues on a variety of project types including high containment biohazard and nuclear facilities, energy plants, government buildings, high rise office buildings, hotels, condominiums and retail centers.

 

Joel’s complex business litigation experience includes extensive representation of companies as both plaintiff and defendant in business-tort and RICO cases as well as cases involving fiduciary fraud and disloyalty by corporate officers and agents. Joel also has successfully handled cases involving lender liability, professional negligence, commercial contract disputes, insurance coverage disputes, and personal injury.
