Mark’s practice focuses on solving the partnership and corporate tax problems of publicly and privately held businesses. Clients rely heavily on Mark’s experience for planning the most efficient tax structure for their financial and M&A transactions. Mark also has substantial experience with tax controversies before federal and state taxing authorities and with the submission of private letter ruling requests for taxpayers.

In the health care industry, Mark works with hospitals and physician groups to form joint ventures for diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Mark has worked closely with lawyers in the Employee Benefits Practice Group to evaluate tax issues involved in the structuring of Executive Compensation Plans. Mark also works closely with lawyers in the Corporate and Securities and Trust and Estates Practice Groups with business succession planning, and with Motorsports clients such as drivers and team owners. Such representation includes sponsorship and driver contract negotiating as well as ancillary activities such as aircraft acquisition and operation.
