Mike is an experienced attorney who regularly handles business and real estate disputes in both federal and state courts of North Carolina and in arbitration. Mike has litigated a wide array of cases, ranging from business and partnership lawsuits to condemnation, bank litigation and insurance defense. His practice is focused primarily on complex business litigation.
Mike uses a common sense approach, backed by sound legal analysis, to represent his diverse clients. Mike understands that his clients wish to achieve legal solutions to problems that also make good business sense. He was instrumental in developing and training others in the use of a technological system at Womble Carlyle that assisted clients in the management of mass tort litigation. Mike is especially effective at analyzing complex issues in order to fashion a creative and coherent strategy for litigation success. In many of his cases, he has conducted intensive searches for the solution through a review and analysis of thousands of documents. Mike now uses his experience in representing plaintiffs and defendants in cases of all sizes.
Mike has represented clients in the following industries: banking, aviation, insurance, food services, real estate development, commercial and retail financing, furniture, commercial retail, hospital, medical device, medical laboratory, chemical manufacturing, software, wireless communications, brick manufacturing, and many more.
Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, Mike practiced business and real estate litigation with the Stamford, Connecticut, office of Shipman and Goodwin, LLP, formerly Schatz and Schatz, Ribicoff and Kotkin.
