Nanda Alapati’s practice focuses on the acquisition and litigation of patents, especially those involving electrical technology, computer science and the mechanical arts. Nanda has prepared and prosecuted patents in the fields of semiconductors, computer hardware and software, business methods, internet technology, optical communications, analog devices, consumer electronics, automotive technology, laboratory and medical instrumentation, mechanical devices and metal cutting tools. He has litigated patents in technology areas such as coaxial cable, telecommunications devices, semiconductors, computer software, cryptographic systems, consumer electronics and window blinds, among others, and has also litigated trademarks and cybersquatting cases. Nanda develops domestic and foreign patent strategies for both U.S. and foreign clients, renders opinions on patent matters, performs due diligence studies, evaluates patent portfolios, and negotiates licensing and other agreements.
Prior to entering law, Nanda worked in the defense electronics industry for several years, focusing on image analysis, electronic warfare, radar and sonar signal processing and communications systems. He also served as a director of business development for a defense contractor focusing on undersea electronic systems.
