Owen Asplundh is a trial attorney with experience in all aspects of case preparation and presentation. He has successfully handled cases in a variety of areas, including product liability, mass tort, and business litigation. He has significant experience in both individual and multi-plaintiff cases in state and federal courts.

Owen’s practice focuses primarily on product liability defense. His experience in complex product litigation includes developing and executing discovery strategies; briefing and arguing discovery and dispositive motions; and working cooperatively with national, regional, and local counsel for co-defendants. Owen has also handled mediations, arbitrations, and trials for business clients.

Owen’s recent litigation experience includes:

  • Trying a commercial real estate case to a successful jury verdict;
  • Obtaining a complete defense verdict for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in a business tort case brought by thirty-seven Missouri hospitals claiming $447 million in unreimbursed healthcare costs plus punitive damages;
  • Defending a pharmaceutical manufacturer against allegations of fraud, conspiracy, unfair trade practices, and breach of contract;
  • Defending Google in Communications Decency Act litigation; and
  • Defending R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in various types of personal injury cases. See, e.g., Woods v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, et al., 635 F.Supp.2d 530 (S.D. Miss. 2009).
