Pete is a Member in the Corporate and Securities Practice group, practicing in the Winston-Salem and Raleigh offices of the firm. His wide-ranging practice includes business transactions, corporate and public finance, mergers and acquisitions, health care and health care transactions. Pete is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law and Health Care Law.
 
Pete advises boards of directors of publicly held, non-publicly held, and large non-profit corporations on all aspects of corporate governance, shareholder/member relations, government regulation and public policy. He also represents clients in financings for all types of state and local government and nonprofit finance, as well as various public-private partnerships and he assists corporations in the acquisition and sale of businesses.
 
Pete is currently a member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 31. Pete serves as a Co-Chair of Appropriations, Chair of Judiciary I and Vice-Chair of the Rules Committee.
