Bob Quick began his public finance practice in 1976 and currently devotes a major portion of his practice to serving as bond counsel, issuer's counsel, special tax counsel, underwriter's counsel, letter of credit counsel and trustee's counsel in all types of public and private tax-exempt financings. For the past five years, Bob has headed the public finance practice at Womble Carlyle including not only traditional municipal debt issues but also the representation of financial institutions in tax-exempt transactions. Bob has also had extensive experience representing financial institutions furnishing credit enhancements, such as letters of credit, standby bond purchase agreements, put agreements and similar agreements. Womble Carlyle is listed in the municipal bond attorneys section of the Directory of Municipal Bond Dealers of the United States and is approved bond counsel for North Carolina Medical Care Commission bond issues.

Under Bob's direction, Womble Carlyle has served or is serving as bond counsel or special tax counsel in connection with North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, New York, Iowa, Florida, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia private activity/industrial development bonds and state and municipal lease-purchase financings. Bob has also acted as counsel to purchasers, corporations, underwriters and trustees in hundreds of separate private activity/industrial development, hospital, municipal lease/installment sale and housing tax-exempt financings throughout the United States.
