Scott Sudderth has been in practice since 1989, and is involved extensively in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, primarily in the areas of mechanical and electromechanical applications. He has drafted and prosecuted numerous applications in various fields including: textile handling and sewing equipment, poultry processing, packaging systems and methods, flow metering devices, concrete reinforcing systems, and deposition processes for synthesizing films. Additional fields of prosecution experience include: firearms and firing systems, article transport and packaging equipment, control systems, textile handling and manufacturing systems, including systems and equipment in the carpet tufting and garment/sewing equipment fields, industrial casting and heat treatment methods and systems, and building products and methods of manufacture.

Mr. Sudderth has substantial experience in trademark prosecution, counseling and in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation before numerous Federal Courts, including conducting patent claim interpretation hearings and other court proceedings. His experience also includes infringement and validity reviews and involvement in claim construction (Markman) hearings. Mr. Sudderth has spoken at seminars and to various technology/patent groups regarding intellectual property protection issues.
