Shawn’s practice includes Business, Taxation, Estate Planning and Probate administration, for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. His experience includes corporate law, taxation, estate planning and probate, employee benefits and tax exempt organizations. He is a certified specialist in tax law as well as estate planning and probate law. Shawn has been approved to serve as a Circuit Court Mediator by the South Carolina Board of Arbitration and Mediator Certification.

  • Has served as mediator in the Settlement of several litigation cases.
  • Representation of numerous business owners regarding succession planning.
  • Representation of $56 million estate in the reformation of a will.
  • Representation of owners in the sales of business exceeding $10 million.
  • Representation of LLCs and their corporate managers in real estate development transactions (including hotels, apartment complexes and restaurants).
  • Representation of corporations engaging in post-409A deferred compensation agreements and post-Sept. 17, 2003 split dollar arrangements for executives.
  • Representation of charitable organizations including a nonprofit hospital and educational foundation.
  • Representation of owner in the sale of a car dealership.
