Todd Billmire combines practical business experience, environmental compliance experience, and litigation savvy in his environmental, toxic tort and energy practice.
Before practicing law, Todd worked for seven years in the environmental remediation and compliance industry and earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver. He has experience with many federal and state environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act (CWA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
Since 2005, Todd’s practice has been focused on assisting clients with complex commercial litigation. He has experience in a wide variety of business litigation matters, including class-action litigation, securities litigation, and corporate and commercial disputes.
At Womble Carlyle, Todd assists clients with:
- Environmental litigation
- Wetlands and Brownfield matters
- Environmental regulatory compliance
- Energy law, particularly renewable energy.

Council for Children’s Rights,volunteer attorney; Mecklenburg County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program, volunteer attorney in landlord/ tenant and legal services for the elderly matters ; Participant in the Lunch with a Lawyer and Reading Buddy programs of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Todd also serves on the Board of Directors for two non-profit Charlotte area sports organizations: Ramblewood Soccer, Inc. and the Charlotte Area Ultimate Association.
