Members of Womble Carlyle's Baltimore Office helped a great cause this month by taking the "Polar Bear Plunge" on behalf of Special Olympics Maryland. Governor Bob Ehrlich and associate Erin Miller spearheaded the effort by raising more than $5,600 for Maryland's Special Olympics chapter, which benefits more than 10,000 children and adults with disabilities. The highlight came Saturday when Ehrlich joined 11,000 other Marylanders for a plunge in the icy waters of the Chesapeake Bay in honor of the Olympians. Other "polar bears" included Joe Flacco, Jason Brown, and Adam Terry of the Baltimore Ravens. All told, the event raised $2.5 million for a great cause.
