GREENSBORO, N.C.—Bernie Brown, a patent attorney in Womble Carlyle’s Biotechnology/Chemical/ Pharmaceutical Patent Practice Group, was profiled in the Greensboro News & Record in a story on the Elon University School of Law.

Like many Elon Law graduates, Brown is a second-career attorney. Previously, he was an assistant professor of biochemistry and chemistry at Wake Forest University. He obtained a patent based on his biochemistry research as a Ph.D. student, which prompted his interest in patent law.

“If I’d known how much I was going to like it, I may have done it earlier,” Brown told the newspaper.

The article also is posted on the Elon University Web site.
