Betty Temple Named BTI Client Service All-Star
January 16, 2009
Womble Carlyle attorney Betty Temple has been named to the 2009 BTI Client Service All-Star Team. Temple is one of only 176 attorneys nationally and across the globe to make the list of client service all-stars. She is the only attorney in South Carolina to be named a Client Service All-Star.
The list honors attorneys who deliver outstanding service to Fortune 1000 companies. Attorneys must be nominated by name and unprompted by a client. BTI conducted extensive interviews with corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies to gauge the quality of service they are receiving from their outside law firms. According to the report, members of the Client Service All-Star Team are able to “instill a confidence and trust reserved only for the most valued and strategic business partners.”
This is the second time Temple has been named to the BTI Client Service All-Star Team, as she also was recognized in 2006.
“I’m honored to receive this recognition, particularly since it comes from my clients,” Temple said. “I have always made client service a focus in my practice and it is gratifying to know these efforts are appreciated.”
“Client service is the top priority at Womble Carlyle and no one exemplifies that better than Betty Temple,” said Allen Grumbine, Managing Member of the Greenville Office.
Temple is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities team and practices in the Greenville office. A substantial portion of her practice includes advising issuers and underwriters in connection with public offerings and private placements of securities. Betty has also represented companies in a variety of acquisition transactions, including asset purchases and sales, mergers, tender offers and proxy contests. Temple’s venture capital financing experience includes the representation of both start-up companies and venture capitalists. She also does general corporate and securities work for ongoing public and private clients on matters such as SEC compliance, securities and disclosure issues and review of corporate governance matters. Temple also serves as independent special counsel to public company boards of directors and audit and compensation committees. Temple currently serves as the Co-Chairperson of the Womble Carlyle’s Sarbanes-Oxley Committee.
