Chinese Business Delegation Visits Womble Carlyle’s Greensboro Office

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Womble Carlyle’s Greensboro office hosted a delegation of nearly 30 Chinese business leaders on April 2.
 
Randy Hanson welcomed the group to the office and gave the group a brief introduction of the firm. Guanming Fang, the leader of the firm’s China Initiative, gave a presentation on starting a business operation in the United States. Also present to welcome the group was Jack Hicks who gave a lively presentation on intellectual property protection in the U.S.   Following their visit to the Greensboro office, the delegation visited the offices and warehouse of Han Feng, Inc., a client of the firm. 

Fang focuses her practice on U.S.-China cross border transactions. She is the co-founder and Chairman of the Georgia-China Alliance, a non-profit organization devoted to promoting business exchanges between the United States and China. Hanson is the group leader of the firm’s Global Business Group. He concentrates his practice on cross-border transactions, helping U.S. companies establish overseas operations and assisting foreign businesses with U.S. investments. Hicks has worked extensively on international patent and design protection. He recently returned from visiting clients in Singapore and Vietnam.

The visit was coordinated through the State of North Carolina China Office. Companies represented in the delegation included many lumber and hardware importers that supply to the furniture industry and furniture manufacturers. Before visiting Womble Carlyle’s Greensboro office, the group had spent the morning touring the Furniture Market in High Point.

Guests at the reception received copies of the Guide for Expanding Into the U.S. Market, written by Fang and Womble Carlyle attorney Clint Richardson.
The Greensboro office is a hub for the firm’s Global Business practice. Womble Carlyle assists U.S. and foreign business interests from around the world in cross border transactional and regulatory matters and in the resolution of cross border business disputes.
