CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Womble Carlyle is working to ensure that talented young minds have an opportunity to pursue a career in the law, if they so choose.

The firm sponsors the Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO)—Womble Carlyle Road to Law School Academy, which is currently taking place at the University of North Carolina. The summer program invites minority undergraduate students to participate in pre-law courses, meet with working attorneys and learn about the law school application process.

Johnny Loper, Managing Member of Womble Carlyle’s Raleigh office, spoke at the July 3rd welcome event at the start of the program. Christopher Bolen, Managing Member of the firm’s Research Triangle Park office, will be providing remarks at the closing ceremonies.

Womble Carlyle attorneys from the Raleigh and RTP offices will share their experiences and provide guidance. Attorneys Carol Brani, Anna McLamb, Jon Mize, Ed Rojas, Mitch Tuchman and Mary Windham will participate in a panel discussion titled “Pathway to Success” on July 23rd. That session will take place at Womble Carlyle’s Raleigh office.

This is the fourth year Womble Carlyle has partnered with CLEO on the Road to Law School Academy. This year, the program has drawn participating students from the University of North Carolina, N.C. State University, Fayetteville State University, Winston-Salem State University, North Carolina Central University and North Carolina A&T State University. The summer program runs July 3-30th.
