October 6, 2011
Is the “business of law” itself a detriment to the retention and succession of minority lawyers? Why do so many Fortune 500 companies require their network of law firms to engage in diversity best practices that illustrate growth and change? These questions were the topics of a Diversity Panel Discussion and Reception hosted by the Charlotte office for the local Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Chapter on Monday, September 19th. The panel included Ken Wittenauer, General Counsel, Britax USA; Dean Blake Morant, Dean, Wake Forest School of Law; Carranza Pryor, Associate General Counsel & Director, Litigation, TIAA-CREF and Womble Carlyle attorneys, Debbie Israel and Brent Clinkscale. The panel along with audience participation discussed these issues facing our legal community.
